In fact, it’s a book I’d recommend to just about anyone. It’s heartbreaking and hopeful at the same time. The story that Scott tells is a hard one of love lost and love found. Strong family ties and flawed characters provide added depth and authenticity to this well-plotted story. RJ Scott has once again written a powerful and passionate romance that will resonate with her readers.<br /><a name="more"></a><br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Excerpt</b></span><br /><br />"J, are you coming?"<br /><br />Jordan Salter jumped a little and glanced up from his work, refocusing tired eyes that had been intent on minute hand work on a three-by-three post of kiln-dried walnut. He widened his eyes fractionally in the gathering evening gloom, blinking and attempting to make sense of the new focus of his concentration. The ache behind them was the icing on the cake—a by-product of the nagging headache that had tracked him all day and the need to concentrate on creating the intricate detail work that he was determined to finish. He closed his eyes briefly, gritty exhaustion in them, and he let out an almost incoherent, "Wha…?"<br /><br />"You said you were going to be finishing early today."<br /><br />"Wha…?" What is it with people interrupting my work?<br /><br />Whoever it was in the room with him flicked on the overhead light, courtesy of the electrical work that had been completed and signed off today. Jordan winced.<br /><br />"It’s past eight and you’re still here?"<br /><br />Jordan blinked steadily—if it was eight o’clock then why the hell was Ben standing in the house? He should have gone home two hours ago. Come to think of it, why was Ben dressed to the nines in his Sunday jeans and a clean shirt? Jordan remembered last seeing his friend and colleague in overalls, working on wiring. Ben Craig was the only subcontractor they called on and then only in an emergency.<br /><br />"You said to come back for you. To remind you about the party." Ben was clearly and deliberately speaking in words containing minimal syllables, and he spoke slowly enough that Jordan could absorb the words. Tension stiffened the older man’s stance, and his expression schooled itself into a frown. What was he supposed to remember? Suddenly, through the fatigue, the memory clicked into place. The party. Hayley’s party. She was twenty-two today, and he’d been invited to join the Addisons and associated friends at The Olive Garden for dinner.<br /><br />"Shit."<br /><br />"In it, big time," Ben muttered, walking across the kitchen and, almost as if he couldn’t help it, sliding the palm of his right hand over the unwaxed, still-dull brown wood that Jordan had chosen for the newel post. Fingertips barely touching the surface, Ben traced the grain and nodded. Jordan looked from the wood to Ben and back again, mind working feverishly to keep his focus on the fact that he’d promised to be at the party.<br /><br />"She’ll be pretty," Jordan offered, wondering if he was coming across as defensive even as he dismissed the thought and focused on the beauty of the wood.<br /><br />"She’ll polish up well," Ben agreed. "Walnut was a good choice."<br /><br />"I just get…" Involved, he finished in his mind. Engrossed to the point that he felt no weariness until his attention was broken. From intricate carved details on newels to the hand-turning and intricate inlay work for chair backs, Jordan had always been mesmerised by the forms he could create. The patterns and the curves under his fingers had always been inside the wood, as far as he knew. Able to find the faintest of grains, he would sand and shape and polish, thinking of nothing except the beautiful wood beneath his touch. Once he saw the purpose of each piece of wood, and had paid attention to the shapes buried in each piece, he laid out the finished product in his head. Giving his thought to the raw potential in front of him, he focused on having the wood’s final shape match the completed mental image. He often didn’t know where to start, but when he was in the zone, when each tiny cut made the beauty of the wood show in striations of pale brown and gold, he couldn’t snap himself out of it.<br /><br />Tonight wasn’t the first time over the last few months that he’d forgotten something, nor would it be the last. Jordan was tired, and he felt years older than his twenty-nine. He commonly put in eighteen-hour days. First had come the hard physical work on the larger aspects of renovation, then the labour-intensive detailed finishing woodwork on Mistral House had consumed him.<br /><br />Recession had hit the construction industry hard, and he was the sole remaining staff member of Addison Construction. AC’d had no choice—people had had to be let go, and he was finishing this contract on his own, with just Ben in and out for things he couldn’t do, electrical being one of them. When Jordan was working on the final touches in a renovation, he sank into the process, the carving and staining and completing his only reality. Intensely involved and completely cut off from the rest of the world, such things as birthday parties and promises to attend them didn’t exist.<br /><br />AC needed to flip Mistral House as soon as they could—the very existence of Phil Addison’s company depended on the cash flow realised from the sale of the home. Added to the stress of the need to finish, he’d had little more than three hours sleep last night, and he was into his nineteenth hour working today.<br /><br />He glanced back down at the smooth wood, the texture of the newel satiny and solid beneath his fingertips, judging that he only had a quarter hour, maybe half, and this part of the detailed intricate work would be finished.<br /><br />The kitchen cabinets, each custom made, were solid walnut, generations of growth in the sturdy wood. Jordan’s elaborate detailing accentuated the highlights and lustre of the wood’s deep honey tones. Jordan had created a pedestal, circular-topped kitchen table and four chairs as well, and the rails complemented the other wood in the room. The kitchen was the crowning glory of the carpentry in this house renovation and a source of great pride to Jordan.<br /><br />He had, after all, done most of the work single-handedly, since Phil had become too ill to work alongside him. The kitchen was his baby, and he just needed to finish the detailing—tonight. Ben stood, waiting for an answer if his subtle shifting from foot to foot was anything to go by.</div>

There are no new major scenes, although POV amendments have been made to the story.</b></i> <br /><br />Jacob Riley is one of Hollywood’s bad boys. Child star turned television and B movie actor, he has a reputation for wildness and difficulty honed by years of close encounters with drugs and alcohol. When his latest brush with the law results in him facing a prison term that could ruin his career, he is offered a choice: either participate in a new kind of rehab program or go to prison…again.<br /><br />Mac’s is an adult education center located in a part of Los Angeles known for gang violence. They are not a drug rehab program, but Ethan Myers has agreed to oversee Jacob’s community service probation in exchange for a donation from Jacob’s wealthy father.<br /><br />Ethan is less than impressed with the spoiled and immature actor, but the center – his labor of love – is struggling financially. He figures that he can put up with just about anything for four months in order to keep his program alive.<br /><br />The two men don’t exactly start on a positive note. Jacob is angry enough to want to sabotage the program, and Ethan sees the young man as more of a hindrance than a help. Over time, however, a truce develops, and soon Jacob finds himself more involved with the center – and with Ethan – than he has ever been with anything in his self-centered life. But is this change in him permanent? Is the <i>enfant terrible</i> actually growing up? Ethan and Jacob take the time to slowly and carefully cultivate their budding relationship, and the passion between them is explosive. <a href="http://www.darkdivasreviews.com/?p=3282">Read More>></a><br /><div><br /></div><b>Bittersweet Reviews rated Moments 5</b> - ...I also love the fact R J Scott avoided the temptation of making Jacob an A list movie star and his presence at the Oscars hardly raised a blip on the showbiz radar. When I read the Oscars featured in the book, I already had visions of the redeemed actor getting out of rehab and winning an Oscar but thankfully that wasn’t the case. Once the problems are resolved, there is a suitably romantic ending that will have even the most hardhearted sighing in pleasure. <a href="http://www.bittersweetreviews.com/2011/03/moments-by-r-j-scott/">Read More>></a><br /><div><br /></div><b>The Readers Roundtable rated 4 Golden Crowns </b>- Moments is another astounding love story by RJ Scott. Moments is about all those “moments” you find yourself never realizing you wanted until you experienced them. RJ Scott created a special couple in Ethan and Jacob. March? That’s four frigging months."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jacob Riley, all six-three of pissed-off male, slammed the door to the small conference room behind him and stamped to the window to stare moodily at the bright sunshine-filled day outside. He twisted both hands tight into his hair in frustration, wondering how the fuck this day had just all gone to hell. His lawyers—his fucking well-paid lawyers—had said they’d get him off, not land him with some lame-ass probation community service crap. Jeez, like he was gonna be taught anything by cleaning streets or dealing with people’s trash. Shit.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">The TV in the corner was showing some trashy entertainment show, where a very smug presenter was reporting the latest news. Jacob tried to tune it out but it was nigh on impossible—it must have been the tenth time the show had been played in rotation.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">The news of the arrest of actor Jacob Riley boosted the audience figures for the half season’s finale of End Game to their highest point for eight months. He’s been offered a lifeline in a county programme of rehab and his spokesperson said he’s concentrating on work and on himself. Well, folks, here’s hoping this is one recovering addict who actually makes it out alive.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"It’s on hiatus," Samantha replied carefully from just inside the door. "I’ve just got off the phone with HBO and they’ll delay your return to ‘Game until you’re free to come back. Remember, with Christmas on the way, we have some room to manoeuvre."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jacob spun on his heel. His quiet, calm assistant stood holding a clipboard, a cellphone balanced on top of it.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Fuck," he summarised. HBO would be stupid to lose him, he was convinced of it. ‘Game was his show. Jacob’s character was pivotal, the star of the whole goddamned show.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"You’re lucky you play Zach," Sam snapped. "And that Zach is a drug-taking manic depressive. Otherwise I swear they would have canned you today, no hesitation."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Was she trying to make him feel better? "Sam, do I look like I give a shit?"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"You need—"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"No! He was fully aware he was coming across as petulant and childish. But how could Sam or anyone understand what was going through his head? Sam, with her to-do lists and her anal outlook on life, sure as hell couldn’t. Who the hell did she think she was? HBO wouldn’t tell his assistant anything of any importance.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"We have four months to get you into a programme and complete your work through the community service," she continued. Her patient tone, measuring every word, talking to him as if he were a small child—he hated every syllable.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"No," Jacob snapped, balling his temper and his dismissal of her into that one word.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">She stepped away from him to stand against the door. "Jacob—"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"No. I’m not cleaning streets, I’m not searching for rubbish or any of the usual crap they put celebrities through to humiliate us!"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Jacob, it’s not meant to be a humiliation. But it is a punishment," Sam said, raising her free hand in an attempt to placate him. Her cellphone slid off the clipboard and tumbled to the floor.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jacob listened, but what she’d said only served to increase his temper. He could feel the itch of addiction under his skin, and it terrified him. Although he would never admit it, he was out of control and it was eating at the edges of him.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">In over a year, he hadn’t wanted a hit as badly as he did at this moment. Frustration and anger burst out of him with uncontrolled force. He reared up and crowded her against the door, his hand circling her wrist and gripping tightly. "Don’t get all sanctimonious on me, Sam, it’s not your style," he snarled.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Jacob, you’re hurting me," Sam whimpered, visibly pushing as close to the wood as she could. Her words didn’t register, and his grip tightened. "Jacob. Please…" she said, tears in her eyes, pain and real fear in her voice. Something in the simple please reached through his anger. He threw Samantha’s hand back towards her body, but he didn’t move away.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"I’m sorry, but don’t push me, okay?" he said tiredly. Half closing his eyes, he took a deep breath. It was the first time in their relationship he could see fear in Sam’s eyes, and it scared the hell out of him. Was she actually afraid of him? What do I say? How the hell do I…?</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Your father," Sam said. "Your father is waiting for you in the next room."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Jacob flipped from menacing back to petulant instantly.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Great, another thing to make my day." Jacob stepped back, watching as Samantha rubbed her wrist and blinked back tears.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Jacob, he wants to help. He knows of this place you can go for the next—"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"He’s the one who got me into this mess, Sam! He finds himself working for paranormal creatures despite his resolve to stick with humans only. To supplement his income as a new PI Sam rents out rooms in the large house.<br /><br />Bob is a vampire and turns up on Sam's doorstep to rent a room. Sparks fly and Sam is attracted to the vampire despite himself.<br /><br />Sam is cursed by a witch, and has two cases landing on his desk. Werewolves, annoying ghosts and a grumpy gargoyle are enough to drive Sam mad. But somehow in amongst all of this he has to find a missing fae and a missing shifter child.<br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><br /><b><span style="font-size: large;">Buy Links</span></b><br /><br /><a href="http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2033" target="_blank">Total E-Bound</a> | <a href="http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00C0QEKK8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1789&creative=390957&creativeASIN=B00C0QEKK8&linkCode=as2&tag=rjsc-20" target="_blank">Amazon (US)</a> | <a href="http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00C0QEKK8/ref=as_li_ss_tl?ie=UTF8&camp=1634&creative=19450&creativeASIN=B00C0QEKK8&linkCode=as2&tag=rjsc-21" target="_blank">Amazon (UK)</a> | <a href="https://www.allromanceebooks.com/product-thecaseofthecupidcurse-1148135-140.html" target="_blank">All Romance</a> | <a href="http://www.barnesandnoble.com/w/the-case-of-the-cupid-curse-rj-scott/1114863108?ean=9781781842584" target="_blank">Barnes & Noble</a> | <a href="http://store.kobobooks.com/en-US/Books/the-case-of-the-cupid-curse" target="_blank">Kobo</a>  <b><span style="font-size: large;"><br /></span></b><br /><br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Reviews</b></span><br /><br /><b><a href="http://glbt.theromancereviews.com/viewbooksreview.php?bookid=8715">The Romance Reviews</a> 4/5 </b>- With stories that are written by more than one author, there are sometimes gaps in the flow of the writing. There are none here. The writing flows smoothly and seamlessly I wouldn't be able to tell you who wrote what. The world describe within the story was easily imagined as where the characters.<br /><br /><b><a href="http://mmgoodbookreviews.wordpress.com/2013/02/25/the-case-of-the-cupid-curse-by-amber-kell-and-r-j-scott/">MM Good Book Reviews</a> 4/5</b> - I really enjoyed this first story in the End Street Detective Agency and I am looking forward to more. We are introduced to an interesting array of characters and some very interesting cases that we delve into. We see as Sam struggles with his attraction to Bob and as they come together, with Sam still not really understanding the depth of Bob’s feelings. The storyline is cool, the cupid curse was very interestingly carried out and the various paranormal we come across are great. Sirens, Vampires, Werewolves, Gargoyles, Ghosts, Fae, Witches and a cat familiar, they all add that little spark of magic that makes this a great story.<br /><br /><b><a href="http://heartsonfirereviews.com/?p=18787">Hearts On Fire Reviews</a> 4/5</b> - This was a fun and action packed read. There is something about Sam that attracts paranormal creatures but also nullifies the effects on their magic. Bob and Sam were a great couple and well developed characters. I enjoyed Bob’s protectiveness toward Sam even if it was sometimes misplaced. The old witch and the Cupid Curse that she put on Bob made for some laughs until the half vampire, Mikhail comes up with a way to neutralize the spell. The story is jam packed with secondary characters that range from the fairly mundane twin fae to the dangerous and exotic siren with a whole slew of werewolves thrown in on the side. The result is a plate full of crazy for Sam and an interesting story for the reader.<br /><br /><b><a href="http://www.longandshortreviews.com/book-reviews/the-case-of-the-cupid-curse-by-rj-scott-and-amber-kell/">Long and Short Reviews</a> -</b> I recommend this book for the gritty storyline, the sexy men and the imaginative world the authors have created.<br /><br /><br /><b><span style="font-size: large;">Excerpt</span></b><br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;">Sam Enderson stood outside his building and smiled with pride. The fresh sign painted on the door in crisp black letters read 'End Street Detective Agency'. Examining the overall effect, he nodded in satisfaction. This move to becoming a private investigator was as far from being a timid bookseller as he could get. No one would walk all over someone who investigated crimes for a living.<br /><br />Three months of correspondence school and a shiny new multi-weapon licence had given his confidence a much-needed boost. After the hellish past year, in which he’d found his boyfriend in bed with his now ex-best friend, followed by the death of his favourite uncle, Sam was ready for a new start in life.<br /><br />Uncle Hanson. Just thinking about him made Sam feel sad. He had fond memories of visiting his uncle at work. The man had always liked Sam. He evidently had carried that affection into Sam’s adult life. After all, he had left Sam an entire building in his will, the building Sam now stood in front of. An office with accommodations over the top, it was worth quite a bit of money despite its proximity to an undesirable area.<br /><br />"You should sell," his friend Oscar had said. Oscar had had no love for Uncle Hanson. In a sniffy tone, he’d often consigned Hanson to the idiot pile and called him ‘odd’.<br /><br />"I don’t want to sell," Sam had protested.<br /><br />"What are you going to do with it?" Oscar had asked.<br /><br />"Open up my own agency."<br /><br />Oscar still wasn’t speaking to him, even now, three months later.<br /><br />Sam sighed at the memory then mentally pushed it all to one side to admire his property. The lower half consisted of a business office and reception area, with the upper two floors divided into four apartments. Three were empty but his uncle had filled the fourth one with notes from his own investigative practice. That room was high on his list of things to sort out, but he first needed to concentrate on renting out one of the empty apartments.<br /><br />Sam may have inherited the house, but it hadn’t exactly come with a burgeoning bank account to match. Forty years of being a detective and all Hanson had had to show for it was this building, a small bank account and a room full of papers. Sam was determined to be different. He even had a five-year plan in place. Sam didn’t doubt for one minute that he knew exactly why his uncle had had little money to speak of. Uncle Hanson had done too much pro bono work for them.<br /><br />Filing cabinets and boxes overflowed with notes from years of being a private detective. A lot of those papers included cases involving aspects of the paranormal, things Sam thought better left alone. Sam didn’t have a drop of supernatural blood in his entire body and he didn’t plan on associating with those who did. It hadn’t exactly worked out for his uncle.<br /><br />Paranormals had their place. Hell, they owned half the city. Vampires and werewolves, witches, fae and pixies—they all had their own parishes. Neighbourhoods where they lived amongst their own kind. Like enjoyed living with like, and, although they often mixed and matched, no one in Sam’s family had ever crossed the romantic boundary between the magical and the not.<br /><br />Sam didn’t count his second cousin Christa, who had taken up with a blood demon. There was a bad seed in every batch. </span></span><br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-size: small;"> </span></span><b><span style="font-size: large;"> </span></b> <br /><div><br /></div>

Re-released today from <a href="https://www.facebook.com/TotalEBound?group_id=0">Total-E-Bound Publishing</a> the story of Jacob & Ethan. <br /><br />Jacob Riley is one of Hollywood’s bad boys. They are not a drug rehab program, but Ethan Myers has agreed to oversee Jacob’s community service probation in exchange for a donation from Jacob’s wealthy father. Ethan is less than impressed with the spoiled and immature actor, but the center – his labor of love – is struggling financially. Is the enfant terrible actually growing up? Or is he just marking time until his four months are up and he can return to his old life in Hollywood?<div><br /></div><div><div style="text-align: center;"><a href="http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2057" target="_blank"><b>BUY LINK</b></a></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTWbBR1xsnEbSWg-CzBOyzWEgmUg1F9qhIJx0iKZRQLJWBm_vT0pM65mNQdntrP3uG-B1q3YkxpQ743M2tSxY-yNSK5T0dOe2jNN9od1Q_phwyWSq3vkFPXGWddJe67oGQyb9zzsTBlF0/s1600/moments_banner.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhTWbBR1xsnEbSWg-CzBOyzWEgmUg1F9qhIJx0iKZRQLJWBm_vT0pM65mNQdntrP3uG-B1q3YkxpQ743M2tSxY-yNSK5T0dOe2jNN9od1Q_phwyWSq3vkFPXGWddJe67oGQyb9zzsTBlF0/s1600/moments_banner.jpg" /></a></div><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><div><div style="text-align: left;"><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Reviews</b></span></div><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><b>Hearts On Fire Reviews 5/5</b> - Ethan Meyers is mourning the death of his partner while running Mac’s, an inner city half way house. Mac’s reaches out to inner city people teaching them math and language skills and Ethan is on a mission to save it. Jacob Riley is a recovering druggie and alcoholic actor sentenced to four months of community service at Mac’s. He enters the place ranting and cussing up a storm blaming everyone but himself for being there. Trials and personal awakenings change both Ethan’s and Jacob’s lives but can an older man fit into a TV star’s world and would he even want to? <a href="http://heartsonfirereviews.com/?p=18813" target="_blank">Read More>></a></div></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div><strong></strong><br /><a name="more"></a><strong>Bookwenches rated Moments at 4.5/5 - </strong>Overall, I was impressed with this story. It entertained me, touched me, and satisfied my romantic sweet tooth. And oh yes, a word of warning for the emotional lightweights out there, like me: a couple of tissues might be required. I freely admit to shedding a tear or two over this story; in fact, I count this as a sign of a pretty decent romance. I will definitely be seeking out more of Ms. Scott’s work in the future. <a href="http://www.bookwenches.com/october10reviews.htm#653240441" target="_blank">Read More>></a><br /><br /><b>Dark Diva's Reviews</b><b> - rated 4 Delightful Divas</b> - Moments by RJ Scott is a multi-layered novel of redemption with an engaging cast of characters. Jacob’s recovery is realistic and sometimes painful to read as he realizes he is ultimately responsible for the path his life has taken. Ms. Scott has a knack for putting together what seem to be polar opposites but showing they really aren’t. ... Moments is about all those “moments” you find yourself never realizing you wanted until you experienced them. RJ Scott created a special couple in Ethan and Jacob. Another good read by a wonderful author. <a href="http://thereadersroundtable.com/erotic/?p=14" target="_blank">More>></a><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b><br /></b></span><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Excerpt</b></span><br /><div style="text-align: center;"><br /><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"Shit, Sam. I don’t need anything or anyone. They push me off the show and they’ll see their ratings drop overnight. No one loses Jacob Riley and sees their show survive."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Sam stared at him in bewilderment.</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">Resentment bubbled up inside him. He freaking turned me in!"</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;">"He’s waiting."</div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div><div style="text-align: left;"><br /></div></div><br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQopxh5JLz2fkXc0Gto3nlH1GdWOxaiafsjWCc7HGVw-ITmYB3pSuYwklrD0_-YcdBCFNk41mDNMdL21tYf9q38edjZpdJOW4yjrULkUCI0NJG-eALzAl2eXI6gtXBQnI_ivJuleTgOzw/s1600/moments_postcard.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="640" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiQopxh5JLz2fkXc0Gto3nlH1GdWOxaiafsjWCc7HGVw-ITmYB3pSuYwklrD0_-YcdBCFNk41mDNMdL21tYf9q38edjZpdJOW4yjrULkUCI0NJG-eALzAl2eXI6gtXBQnI_ivJuleTgOzw/s640/moments_postcard.jpg" width="448" /></a></div><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><br /></div></div>

No authors were injured in the writing of this novel. (I know surprising right?)</i><br />The buy now, read now version is coming to TEB on Monday. Here is the buy <a href="http://www.total-e-bound.com/product.asp?strParents=&CAT_ID=&P_ID=2033">link</a><br /><br />It’s 15% off if you pre-order now. I think it drops to 10% if you wait until Monday. I could be wrong.<br /><br /><span style="font-size: large;"><b>Excerpt:</b></span><br /><br />Sam Enderson stood outside his building and smiled with pride. The fresh sign painted on the door in crisp black letters read ‘End Street Detective Agency’. After the hellish past year, in which he’d found his boyfriend in bed with his now ex-best friend, followed by the death of his favourite uncle, Sam was ready for a new start in life.<br /><br /><a name="more"></a>Uncle Hanson. Just thinking about him made Sam feel sad. He had fond memories of visiting his uncle at work. The man had always liked Sam. He evidently had carried that affection into Sam’s adult life. After all, he had left Sam an entire building in his will, the building Sam now stood in front of. An office with accommodations over the top, it was worth quite a bit of money despite its proximity to an undesirable area.<br /><br />“You should sell,” his friend Oscar had said. Oscar had had no love for Uncle Hanson. In a sniffy tone, he’d often consigned Hanson to the idiot pile and called him ‘odd’.<br /><br />“I don’t want to sell,” Sam had protested.<br /><br />“What are you going to do with it?” Oscar had asked.<br /><br />“Open up my own agency.”<br /><br />Oscar still wasn’t speaking to him, even now, three months later.<br /><br />Sam sighed at the memory then mentally pushed it all to one side to admire his property. There was a bad seed in every batch.<br /></div>

After everything that happened in October and November with Silver I have got my head down and written so many words!! Unfortunately it just so happens that the release dates for these books all seem to coincide in February, March and April this year... I know it's probably been a little confusing keeping up with everything what with new cover art, new releases, re-releases of old books... and it goes on. I apologise. At least I am through the other side of the worst and am just waiting for money and for my rights back on the remainder of my books.<br /><br /><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;"><b>News</b></span><br /><br />My <b>Supernatural Bounty Hunter</b>'s series with Extasy is now planned to span 6 books, instead of 3. This means I have ample time to build my world of the Glitnir Court, Werewolfs Vampires, Fae and a touch of magic... Book 1 is doing well and has received some really nice reviews which makes me smile. :)<br /><br />My <b>Ellery Mountain</b> series with TEB is now marked to be 6 books, instead of 5. The sixth book is about an ex SEAL who goes to Daniel for help... and ends up spotting a bartender he wants to get to know.<br /><br /><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRaMXLbjaTn_s72ZQ9PgRMIsHt2aR1ed7Ht2L4YSX4hgSnoNPADmdXK3pAfZqZUTpqbCMtxteDtXlhjIwVWu5JwQp0-T5YlIxioYX9-cEBuGKKAztNad0RiVe2t33-gQUGxthbmeu_xDU/s1600/Worlds-Collide-600x900.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; float: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: 1em;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiRaMXLbjaTn_s72ZQ9PgRMIsHt2aR1ed7Ht2L4YSX4hgSnoNPADmdXK3pAfZqZUTpqbCMtxteDtXlhjIwVWu5JwQp0-T5YlIxioYX9-cEBuGKKAztNad0RiVe2t33-gQUGxthbmeu_xDU/s400/Worlds-Collide-600x900.jpg" width="266" /></a>In answer to the many emails (thank you guys) I have had to put <b>Texas 4 (Texas Family)</b> on hold. As much as I want to write it I can't all the time that Silver have the rights to Texas 2 (Texas Winter) and Texas 3 (Texas Heat). I should have news for you all soon.<br /><br /><b>Sanctuary 7 (Worlds Collide) </b>has a new available date of 30 March, this is to give me some breathing room to make sure I give Dale and Joseph the best happy ever after I can. I had lovely new art for it this week which I am proudly displaying here! Bitter Grace did an awesome job capturing Dale, Joseph, snow, an airport and I LOVE it.<br /><br /><span style="color: #cc0000; font-size: large;"><b>New Publisher's Links</b></span><br /><br />As you all know I have two new publishers that have taken a chance on me. And I want to publicly thank them both for the incredible support and encouragement that they have given me over the past few months.<br /><br /><b>Total E-Bound</b> have my Ellery Mountain Series, starting with The Fireman and the Cop, with The Teacher and the Soldier out in March. They also contracted co-authored books with Amber Kell based around a human detective stuck solving paranormal mysteries, much against his best intentions. My book page at Total E-Bound can be found <b><a href="http://www.total-e-bound.com/authordetail.asp?A_ID=272" target="_blank">HERE</a>. </b>Of course they also have Montanna Sky, which is due to hit an e-reader near you August 2013.<br /><br /><b>eXtasy Books</b> have my six book series, Supernatural Bounty Hunters, which began with the Vampire Contract and continues with The Guilty Werewolf in March. My book page at eXtasy can be found <b><a href="http://www.extasybooks.com/" target="_blank">HERE</a>. </b>They also have a new series from me starting September 2013.<br /><br /><span style="color: #cc0000; Max Harrison escaped from his firefighting job in the city to take up a role as assistant to the mayor, whilst also holding the position of a volunteer firefighter.<br /><br />Finn Ryan is one of only three cops in the small town and it soon seems to Max that someone is out to hurt the sexy cop. Rescuing Finn from a burning precinct was the easy part—it’s keeping him alive after that that fireman Max Harrison finds difficult.<br /><br /><a name="more"></a><br /><br />* * * * * <br /><div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijsWhw4FGiyP_yvkpyUP7OYRYr0UAbBSFpN-CswqGRkhSSP0OTV1Iv89fgOo_OFe5kDCSMxRD_jYLtYH54PG_dqKAqbhwAxwtMwb1LNEjSW2VXHs9Bqpnyg4iyzVkX13rKtfLZ1GxRS5k/s1600/TEB_big-banner_070113.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="202" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEijsWhw4FGiyP_yvkpyUP7OYRYr0UAbBSFpN-CswqGRkhSSP0OTV1Iv89fgOo_OFe5kDCSMxRD_jYLtYH54PG_dqKAqbhwAxwtMwb1LNEjSW2VXHs9Bqpnyg4iyzVkX13rKtfLZ1GxRS5k/s640/TEB_big-banner_070113.jpg" width="640" /></a></div><div><br />Excerpt:</div><div><br /></div><div>"Ready for your first fire, probie?"<br /><br />Max Harrison sent the chief a narrow-eyed look and said nothing. He was focused on the call and they were only two minutes out. Parts of him wished to hell Chief Quinn would quit with the ‘probie’ shit. At thirty-two and with ten years of city fireman experience, he hadn’t been the new guy for a long while in the true sense of the word. He dismissed it most of the time as gentle teasing—in a small place like Ellery, with a fire team staffed by volunteers, he was the last one in. Unless someone else joined the half-permanent, half-volunteer fire team then he would always be the probie, just by virtue of the fact no one had joined after him.<br /><br />At least there was no malice or hate in Quinn’s ribbing, which was very different to what he had received back in the city. Didn’t matter that the whole crap about who he was or wasn’t dating had been dealt with, he couldn’t force himself to stay somewhere that his sexual identity was deemed a threat to the shift. Assholes.<br /><br />"The precinct is an old place and burning high," Duncan reported from the driver’s seat. They weren’t bothering with sirens, it was ass o’clock in the a.m. and there was little traffic on these windy back roads even in the daylight. "Fire inspections were cleared but I know for a fact no sprinklers." Duncan turned the heavy engine past the last turn, and finally downtown Ellery—if it could be called downtown—came into sight.<br /><br />A prickle of excitement started at the base of Max’s neck as adrenaline began to pump through his body. The glow of the fire could be seen over the mayor’s hall and beyond to where he knew the precinct was. He’d started work at the mayor’s office only yesterday. Immediately the rig stopped in front of the burning building, he was off and assessing what they had.<br /><br />Quinn was feeding instructions to the crew, but this was clearly a fire well past being contained. Turning in a rough one-eighty, Finn assessed the exposure issue. The precinct was part of an older area of town. A jumble of gift shops, a couple of restaurants and the mayor’s building. Luckily, the precinct itself—little more than a large two-storey building—was separated from other structures close by with fifty feet to spare. The only endangered structures that could be subsequently damaged by the initial fire travelling to them were first on the list to hose down.<br /><br />Like a well-oiled team the volunteer fighters stood next to the full-timers and began their work. A man fell out of the fire-ringed main door and onto his knees in front of Max. He stumbled about, dishevelled and coughing.<br /><br />Max was there in an instant, manhandling the guy away from danger, and guiding him to the paramedics who had arrived a few seconds after the engine.<br /><br />"Someone…" A coughing fit overtook the man. "Inside," he finished when he could get his breath. He was pointing back the way he had come out.<br /><br />Max stiffened. Someone was still inside? He focused on the chaos around him and on shouting.<br /><br /><table cellpadding="0" cellspacing="0" class="tr-caption-container" style="float: right; margin-left: 1em; text-align: right;"><tbody><tr><td style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJxzdXeJupN8I4W3j1SzADm3qqPlUt5s38DwBd4eafrMe90s_T7-08-tD_O6jCfHUfBzJr2ZxXXoGM8ZQDGtlKZ49NUmbOopyDWQC9fCcUqu4OlH7IiGAfO-sRb8X7KNTd9rx78zBfs4g/s1600/theteacherandthesoldier_exlarge.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="clear: right; margin-bottom: 1em; margin-left: auto; margin-right: auto;"><img border="0" height="400" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgJxzdXeJupN8I4W3j1SzADm3qqPlUt5s38DwBd4eafrMe90s_T7-08-tD_O6jCfHUfBzJr2ZxXXoGM8ZQDGtlKZ49NUmbOopyDWQC9fCcUqu4OlH7IiGAfO-sRb8X7KNTd9rx78zBfs4g/s400/theteacherandthesoldier_exlarge.jpg" width="250" /></a></td></tr><tr><td class="tr-caption" style="text-align: center;"><b>Book 2 - March 2013</b></td></tr></tbody></table>"Finn’s still in there," someone yelled. A tall man being held back by a group of onlookers was struggling to get free.<br /><br />No way was a freaking civilian getting anywhere near this scene and Max didn’t even think before crossing to the struggling men.<br /><br />"Where?" he snapped.<br /><br />The guy blinked but didn’t falter. "Straight in. To the back and left rear. The lockup. He went in to get Mike."<br /><br />"That’s Mike?" Max asked, pointing to the old man who had just walked out of the fire.<br /><br />"Yes."<br /><br />"Okay. Going in," Max confirmed into his mic.<br /><br />Quinn spun on his heel at the words to face Max and Max could see his chief’s expression of ‘what the fuck’ coupled with resignation. With a quick wave and no more thought than focusing on the job, Max ensured his face mask was secure and ran straight into the red and orange through the only space he had assessed as suitable ingress. The small area formed from an iron beam holding up the remains of the ceiling in the reception area.<br /><br /></div>
